Youth Group Suspended
Given the advice of health experts, we feel it wise to SUSPEND our Youth Group gatherings for a while starting tonight. We will start up again as soon as it is safe to do so. But for the time being we encourage you to stay home as much as possible. Health officials on the national, state, and local level continue to emphasize that by taking measures of like social distancing NOW will dramatically lower and shorten the pandemic in the LONG RUN. So, let's be smart right now and stay home.
Back by popular demand: Youth Group Lock-In. We have set the date for Friday, May 1. We will begin at 7:00 p.m. that evening and remain together till 7:00 a.m. the next morning (Saturday, May2). During those 12 hours we will play games, do a craft project with Ms. Susie Bliss, (perhaps a second craft with Susan W.), watch a movie, share a midnight worship service, and who knows what else! We eat breakfast together at 6:00 a.m. before cleaning up and heading home at 7:00. As in the past, we wil have Parental Permission Forms that will need to be filled out. As we get closer to May, we'll provide those forms at Youth Group meetings as well as right here online.
Thanks for Helping
Thanks to those youth who helped with the recent Pancakes for "Pancakes for Puerto Rico" event. As you know, we did this back in 2018 as a Confirmation Class project. So, it was an all youth event. It was such a sucess that we decided to do it again. But this time we turned into into an intergenerational project (we let the adults help!). The youth who participated did us proud.
We going to make a picture wall in the Youth House. Send one picture per week to Susan Williams. She will print it out and we'll put it up on the wall. We're posting only pictures of members of our youth group or members of our church. Please email your photo to Susan Williams by Tuesday so she will have time to print it out before our Wednesday.
We have started our new January-April snack sign up list. To see the Snack Schedule, click here or or tap the button at the bottom of the page.
Easter Egg Hunt
We know the children of the church look forward to the Easter Egg Hunt. Once again the Youth Group will make it happen for the kids. On April 8, the Wednesday before Easter, we'll stuff plastic eggs with all sorts of candy provided by the congregation. Then, on Easter morning, April 12, we will hide the eggs so the children can hunt for them right after the Easter worship service. The Youth keep an eye on the children during the hunt and help them, if needed.
Like to sing? The church’s Adult Choir is always open to youth who want to sing. The choir director, Ron Schuler, is a big youth advocate. The choir normally sings in worship on the fourth Sunday of the month. They rehearse from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. the Tuesday evening prior to singing in worship.
