Rev. Anselm Keith Williams
Rev. Anselm Keith Williams became our pastor in July 2011. Ordained a Deacon in 1975 and an Elder in 1979, Anselm has served throughout the Missouri Conference.
Born and raised in the St. Louis area, Anselm received his B.A. from Central Methodist College where he majored in Religion with a minor in Philosophy. He received a Master of Divinity degree in 1977 from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California. In 1978 he was awarded a Master of Arts degree in Philosophical and Systematic Theology from that same institution.
Being a deeply spiritual man and a firm believer in prayer, Rev. Williams is a student of the Church's contemplative tradition. As such he has often been called upon to lead spiritual formation retreats for both lay and clergy groups. When leading worship, Anselm brings a blend of energy, joy, and reverence to the worship service.
Rev. Williams has served the Missouri-East Conference and the newer Missouri Conference on a variety of Boards and Committees both on the Conference and District levels, including the Committee on Ordained Ministry, Committee on Church & Building Location, District Council on Ministries, Conference Rules and Procedures, Committee on Investigation, and the Commission on Worship.
Recognizing God's creation as a precious gift, he has long been an advocate for care of the environment. Though he rarely has the opportunity to indulge himself, Anselm has a passion for being in the water whether it be a river, lake, or ocean. Rev. Williams is also greatly interested in space exploration.
